Quick Start

This guide walks you through the entire process of setting up ReelPlus and publishing your first shoppable video widget. Follow these five steps and you will have interactive video content live on your store in minutes.

Step 1: Install ReelPlus

1. Visit the Shopify App Store and search for ReelPlus.
2. Click Add app on the ReelPlus listing page.
3. You will be redirected to your Shopify admin to review the required permissions.
4. Click Install app to authorize ReelPlus.

After installation, ReelPlus appears in your Shopify Admin sidebar under Apps. Click it to open the dashboard.

Note: ReelPlus requires access to your products, themes, content, and order data to function properly. These permissions allow the app to display product information inside videos, integrate with your theme, and track analytics. Your data is never shared with third parties.

Step 2: Upload Your Videos

Navigate to the Videos section from the ReelPlus dashboard. You have two options for adding videos:

Option A: Upload from Your Device

1. Click the Upload Video button.
2. Drag and drop video files into the upload area, or click Browse to select files from your computer.
3. Supported formats include MP4, MOV, and WebM. For best results, use vertical video (9:16 aspect ratio).
4. ReelPlus automatically compresses your videos for optimal web performance.

Option B: Import from Social Media

1. Click Import Video.
2. Paste a URL from TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube.
3. ReelPlus fetches the video and adds it to your library.
4. You can import multiple videos at once.

Tip: Vertical videos (9:16) work best for carousel, story, and floating widgets. Horizontal videos (16:9) are better suited for product page widgets.

Step 3: Tag Products

Connecting products to your videos is what makes them shoppable. For each video:

1. Open the video from your library by clicking on it.
2. In the video detail view, find the Tagged Products section.
3. Click Add Product and search for products from your Shopify catalog.
4. Select one or more products to tag. These products will appear as interactive cards when customers watch the video.
5. Click Save to confirm.

When a customer views the video in a widget, they will see the tagged products and can add them to cart directly from the video experience.

Tip: Tag your best-selling or most relevant products. Videos with 1 to 3 tagged products tend to perform best — enough variety without overwhelming the viewer.

Step 4: Create a Widget

Now that you have videos with tagged products, it is time to create a widget to display them on your store.

1. Go to the Widgets section in the ReelPlus dashboard.
2. Click Create Widget.
3. Choose a widget type:

4. Give your widget a name (e.g., "Homepage Carousel" or "Summer Collection Stories").
5. Add videos to the widget by selecting them from your library.
6. Configure basic settings:
   • Autoplay — Whether videos start playing automatically.
   • Loop — Whether videos restart after finishing.
   • Visibility — Show on desktop, mobile, or both.
7. Set page targeting to control where the widget appears:
   • All pages
   • Specific pages (home, product, collection, etc.)
   • Custom URL rules
8. Click Save to create the widget.

Tip: If this is your first widget, we recommend starting with a Carousel on your home page. It is the most popular format and gives you the best feel for how ReelPlus works.

Step 5: Add to Your Theme

The final step is to add the ReelPlus widget block to your Shopify theme so it appears on your storefront.

1. From your Shopify Admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
2. Click Customize on your active theme to open the Theme Editor.
3. Navigate to the page where you want the widget to appear (e.g., Home page).
4. Click Add section (or Add block if adding inside an existing section).
5. Search for ReelPlus in the section/block list.
6. Select the ReelPlus block — it will appear on the page.
7. Use the Theme Editor sidebar to pick which widget to display.
8. Click Save in the Theme Editor.

Visit your live store to see the widget in action. Customers can now browse and shop directly from your videos.

Note: If you do not see ReelPlus in the Theme Editor, make sure the app is installed and your theme supports app blocks (Online Store 2.0 themes). If you are using a vintage theme, contact our support team for assistance.
